That reminds me of my wife’s grandfather born in 1883. At about 98 years old he said to me, “Kid, that’s what’s wrong with the world today. Man has no need to go over 35 mph”. He was referring to interstate freeways, btw.

When I was 20, I loved to go 80, but now that I'm 80, 20 is plenty!

Then you would have found a friend in Floyd. He litterally arrived in Oregon in 1886 at 3 years old in a covered wagon. He was a fully self sufficient farmer who had a few dairy cows, sheep for wool to sell, 600 acres of various crops (much grain), no electricity but running water from a spring, a nice three holer outhouse and two border collies both named Dog. Quite the character and fascinating to chat with when I was a young man.
