Locomotives...
We've done cars, bicycles and motorcycles. How about locomotives...
I'm a big fan of trains, of all sizes, and have taken many photos over the years.
I'll start with some steam engines, as they're always the most interesting to look at.

These are also steam locomotives but they're part of a special display, that is the reenactment of the meeting of the U.S. Transcontinental Railroads, the Union Pacific and Central Pacific Railroads, in 1869. Today it's a part of the National Park System located near Promontory Summit, Utah.

Great set! Love old steam locomotives.
Neat to see how they evolved.
One of the most interesting railroad related event that I've ever attended was 'Railfair '99', which was hosted by the California State Railroad Museum in Sacramento, California. It was billed as the last great gathering of steam in the millennium. Note that virtually all of the locomotives were running, including all of the steam locomotives, which was very interesting since, as my wife put it, they seemed like they were living, breathing monsters.
And for the record, I've been a 'card carrying' member of the California State Railroad Museum for over 25-years (and I've got the pins to prove it).

And now we'll deal with really small locomotives, as in model trains, one of the most popular serious hobbies in the world.
A model steam locomotive on display at the Niebaum-Coppola Estate Winery in Rutherford, California - July 2000 - Milnolta Vectis 25
A model steam locomotive on display at the Museum of Toys and Little Trains in Colmar, France - September 2004 - Minolta DiMAGE 7Hi

Now these are smaller, but not exactly 'model' trains.
A small 4-4-0 locomotive at the Saginaw Zoo in Saginaw, Michigan - July 1971 - Minolta SRT-101, 58mm
A small 4-6-4 live steam locomotive at a park in Fairview, Michigan - Minolta SRT-101, 35mm

A small 1915 Louis M. MacDermot 1/3 scale 4-6-2 steam locomotive, Overfair Railway, on display at the California State Railroad Museum in Sacramento, California - June 2005 - Minolta DiMAGE 7Hi
And now for some odd ball or unusual locomotives.

A Electric Barge Towing Locomotive near Saverne, France - September 2004 - Minolta DiMAGE 7Hi

A air-powered 'bottle' locomotive used in underground mines, on display at the World Museum of Mining in Butte, Montana - April 2019 - Sony a6000, 16-50mm
And as for truly unusual locomotives, but ones that actually were in service for many years, it's hard to top this, one of the few turbo-powered locomotives, which is on display that the Union Station Railroad Museum in Orgen, Utah.
The Union Pacific locomotive #26 is one of 55 manufactured by the Alco-General Electric Company. These were the most powerful locomotives ever built and this one was delivered in 1952 and was in service until 1963.

And not to be left out, a couple of pictures of diesel locomotives.

And of course, where there are trains, there are train stations.
Note that many of these stations, particularly those in the US, are no longer being used as train stations and most have been repurposed.
