I am interested in using a NAS unit on my home network to steam my personal videos to my HDTVs. What SW is out there to do this. I have ROKU units at the TVs for some streaming access.
Found that ROKU Gabby app is very limited when using video but Ok for still pic's

You know, being a gadget guy, I'd like to think I know what you're talking about but I'd be flat out lying if I said I understood much of anything you almost said. English seems to do the trick for most of us.

OK here goes. I have a PC loaded with many Slide shows and Videos. In the past I would create a DVD and play it at the HDTV location. Now with a Wireless network and a HDTV with wireless access this can be done using a Media server and a NAS (network attached server) instead of a running PC. For example the library of videos and/or picture slide shows are stored on the NAS and streamed to the HDTV using the wireless network all is controlled at the HDTV location. The ROKU device that gives me Netflix and the like HDTV streaming

There is a channel on the ROKU called Gabby that does still pictures very well but not videos.

The whole arrangement will allow one to have a digital file sent to any of your networked TVs for display without the need to burn to a DVD or blue ray disk.

The question is what software will do that?

Thanks

Okay. Much better. I'll start the ball rolling here but I'll tell you up front that it's going to roll downhill real fast. I do not have a clue but then I suspect you may have already thought that. I sure wish I could help you but have to admit that I cannot. Sounds like you have a real nice setup in the making and I sure hope you can get the kinks worked out.
