Hello all! I am brand new to using SLR Cameras. I recently purchased a Canon EOS T3 and I absolutely love it. I have used point and shoot digital cameras in the past, including Pentax and Fuji Film cameras. I have to admit that I have always wanted to step up to SLR cameras, but never saw the need to. I am learning how to use all the features on the camera while learning what is important to add as accessories as I get more serious about my photography. I am in the process of getting a Speedlite for the camera and wanted to know if there are any suggestions as to which one I should get without spending too much as I am very new to this world. I am currently looking at a Canon EX 430. Any ideas or suggestions on what I should be looking to add to my camera accessory file would be great. If it helps, I photo lots of family events, vacation spots, and general photos. Thanks Team!

Welcome to UHH, tmphilli.
Thanks David. Any advise for a brand new Canon SLR user?
Always nice to see new blood, new perspectives and new pictures. Although I too use Canon I can't help much with any flash advice as I seldom use. I have read where others have mentioned some third party brands that may be a way to save money but again I don't know enough to really say.
Thanks for the comments. Yes, I did see some third party speedlite brands out there, but being new to digital slr photography, I am not sure if I want to risk using third party accessories. Thanks again!
