The skeletal remains and why they are so strong is fascinating. Excellent work Bozsik

I did a similar one. I put a leaf in water with sugar added so as to grow bio-little guys, bacteria, fungus, protozoa, they enjoyed the soft parts of the leaf and left the wood parts. I do not recall, but I may have spiked the water with a bit of dirt.

I will have to try the sugar water thing for sure. How long does it take to create the skeleton that way? Approx.

These are great shots. Looks like traffic arteries converging onto the main city route. Or, better yet, a beautiful natural creation of incredible complexity! I really like these!! I really like the different scale of the two of them also!

I did the cropped photo to better illustrate the complex pattern. It was fun to work on. Thanks.

So today, after fixing some things in the master bedroom shower, I went out to the back yard to do some weeding for relaxation. I was fortunate enough to unearth this leaf skeleton. The soil invertebrates and fungi had devoured the softer plant cells and hadn't broke down the vein skeleton yet. I carefully brought the leaf in and washed as much of the soil that had adhered to the surface and brought out the camera equipment.

I really enjoy the detail the macro lens can provide for close-up captures such as this. 51 stacked exposures and about 4 hours of post editing, and I have a fun image to show you.

This kind of natural history documenting is why I designed the Biological Photography degree I attained from the university years ago. The structure and detail to all living and non-living things around us intrigues me.

As you can see but the cropped view, the tiny vessels are incredibly detailed. They kind of look like a Google Maps view of a urban development. Anyway, it was a great reason to stop the weeding for the day. Back at it tomorrow. Enjoy.
