Quite a colorful set!!! Seeing the Minolta SRT-101 reminded me of my old Minolta SRT-202. It was my 1st "good" camera.

You've captured some nice fall color there! This is my favorite season for the reason you show. I've never been to Michigan other than drive through the southern most part going from New York to Chicago. This summer I plan to drive up the "Mitt" in search of White Pines. In a state park I visited near home in PA they had a cross section of a white pine cut from 30 ft. above the base. It was six feet tall. The info sign said these trees were once common but because of their immense size they were logged almost to extinction. It explained they are kin to the Redwoods, and while they don't grow quite as tall (to a height of 280 ft. vs. Redwoods that can reach 330 ft.), they are fuller having more branches and needles. I found out the greatest concentration of the white pines still around is somewhere in the upper part of the mitt. If you are familiar with these, maybe you could tell me a town near them where I could stay for a night or two.

Actually I would go up to Grayling and visit Hartwick Pines State Park where the largest Pine Trees in Michigan can be found. It's also where the state has attempted to preserve the history of the state's logging industry.

While I was born in Grayling, Michigan, I was raised in Lewiston and went to high school in Atlanta, Michigan. Note that my wife was actually born in Lewiston, in a log cabin in fact. So just for you, a few of pictures you might recognize.

Yup, all familiar. Started falling in love with my wife with Lehto’s pasties and Labbats at Cut River bridge 45 yrs ago!

Beautiful colors up there in Michigan! Seeing the Minolta images gives me some impetus to finish up the film in my X700s.
