Thanks nim... much appreciated.
Nice set of photos. The black and white is my favorite, so that would be my critique; I'd like to see them all in b&w.
We visit regularly; there's a nice hike around the mill pond that goes up to a massive wetland. Good fishing, too.
Taylor Mill is the oldest still-operating reciprocating sawmill in the U.S. If you ever get a chance, there's a weekend tour that'll show you the working mechanism inside the building. What's amazing, is how complex the equipment is. There are numerous adjustments to create different board thicknesses, to change and angle of the blade, to change how fast the saw reciprocates, etc., etc. A good example of the end point in the development of a technology that was eventually given up in favor of motorized power equipment.

I had occasion to take a small drive in my area, and came across this saw mill. Couldn't pass up a chance to photograph it. This is the Taylor Saw Mill, in Derry, New Hampshire, built in 1801. I hope you like it, and if you have a constructive critique, I would love to read it.
Has to be a tough roof to work on.

Thanks for the history of the mill forelocks, I didn't know that it was still an operational mill. WOW! Hey, you are right in my back yard, I live in Angle Pond Woods, in E. Hampstead. Hi neighbor. What kind of fish are being caught in that pond? P M me.
