Michigan lily - Lilium michiganense, a true lily, native to prairies and fens in the Great Lakes basin and the upper Mississippi valley.
Similar North American plants include Carolina Lily (Lilium michauxii) and Sandhills lily (Lilium pyrophilum) in the southeast, Panhandle lily (Lilium iridollae) in Alabama and the Florida panhandle, Turk's cap lily (Lilium superbum) and Canada lily (Lilium canadense) in the northeast, Kelley's lily (Lilium kelleyanum), Kellogg's lily (Lilium kelloggii), Leopard lily (Lilium pardalinum) and Humboldt's lily (Lilium humboldtii) in California, and Columbia lily (Lilium columbianum) in the Pacific Northwest.
