Spent a few days up in the Green Mountains last weekend. These were taken before the snow hit a few days later at which point I was back in Boston. Just enough snow fell overnight Friday that, along with the snow falling the entire route back to Boston caused me to remain a day longer. The drive back the following day was a glorious one in full sun and temps in the forties. Given the relative lack of snow in Boston this year it was nice to have a few days to walk on a crunchy and crackly surface.
It very green yet. Pretty much the same in WI.

When it does get green, and it will, is spectacular particularly up on the summit at 3600 feet or so.
I would prefer the transient green of the north to the perpetual greening of California or the deep south. Trees are more photogenic when skeletal than when in lush bloom.
You got out just in time FrJack. We had over 48" in 72 hours. Never in my eighty years have I seen a storm like this. A terrible beauty.

I'd heard. Had I known it was coming I'd have planned to stay longer. Was snowed in there before after 20" landed in about 24 hours. No complaints. Got some fantastic shots.

Great B&Ws.
Thanks. Unless it is overcast with only a hint of color I prefer to convert snow shots to black and white.
Your usual terrific work. The middle shot is my personal favorite.
