Last Thursday, my wife and I had lunch at our favorite BBQ restaurant near Latta, SC. On the front porch of the country store there, a number of antiques items are on display. There were several "new" antiques on display. Several photos of these are attached. The first two photos show a device that was driven by a belt drive. I have no idea what it was used for? The second set of photos picture what must have been one of the very early electric ranges. Note the plug on the cord. It must have operated on 240 volts. The plug does not have a grounding promg. It was surely used before the three-prong plug grounding wiring was required. Makes you wonder if anyone was electrocuted with the plumbing located in the kitchen.

To me, these old appliances and machines are beautiful examples of art 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
The reason that the stove plug doesn't have the "round" (120v) grounding pin is because it's a 3-prong 220v (240) plug. One pin IS neutral.
