Enjoy.

How many batteries did it use for that? ha ha, mine would use an average of 10 batteries for that many shots. LOL. Thus the new camera.

Congratulations! That is an awesome camera. Have you seen Chris and Jordan review it on DPReview channel on YouTube? I think they featured it several times.

Chris Niccolls liked the camera so much it is his daily driver. He's a guy who tests everything from a "Nick-con Zed 9" to whatever, but he fell in love with the OM-1 like Jordan Drake fell in love with the Lumix GH6 and S5 Mark II. OM Systems hit one out of the park when they released the OM-1 as their first "post-Olympus effort."

Some random thoughts on the videos.

I didn't know the OM-1 had two card slots. I have another SD card around here somewhere. LOL. 20mPix seems the right density to me for M43. Increasing the density will reduce the dynamic range and increase noise. The big deal for me is the BSI sensor. BSI is worth upgrading for and is the reason for the increase in dynamic range. Ha ha auto focus will always choose a reed over the bird!! Improved focusing is always good but quite honestly, except for my girlfriend most of the things I photograph don't move very fast, so autofocus tracking and burst rate of course I will use them at some point, but they are secondary concerns for me. Ha ha I have never found the function 1-2 lever to be of any value for me. I make both settings the same so it doesn't change if I accidentally bump it. What does he mean "a fiddely camera"? Is that an insider's term, like "funky" is an inside technical term ;) we use when troubleshooting electronic circuits.

But I don't need to be sold on M43, I have been shooting M43 and loving the format, since the Panasonic DMC GH-1.

Okay. I WAS thinking Kodak. Yeah, it kinda does sound like a dope deal.

In my AV production days, we would buy and refrigerate a 300-roll case (15 bricks or 10,800 slides) of Ektachrome 400 about once every 18 months, just to get it all one emulsion # at the "low low" net price and not have to deal with color shifts from batch to batch. I shudder to think how much money my company spent for so little back then. These days, 10,800 raw clicks of my camera at 20MB each will fit onto a few cheap SDXC cards.

Fiddly seems to mean that it might be a bit less intuitive to use than something else. Sony and Olympus have long had so many options in a cluttered menu structure that people moving from Canon or Nikon took a while to get used to them. Olympus has a quick menu setup of some sort that is supposed to get around that. It was a pain for some folks to use the original OM-D E-M1 before they got that worked out. Sony has had something similar for a while, now, too. User interfaces keep getting better. They have to, as the engineers keep adding features!

Oh yeah that fits!! But the super control panel (SCP) is your friend! Oddly it's turned OFF by default. ?? But once the SCP is turned ON life is good. In fact, I wish my Nikons had an SCP. LOL.

In the AV biz we just bought about a dozen rolls at a time ... 100ft rolls.

Cassettes got loaded to about 42 frames which is all you can fit on a Nikor reel. The processor could handle several reels per run, but the 42 frame rolls was like sneaking in one more reel per run ;-)

We bought T-Max 100, T-Max 400, HP-5 Plus, and FP4 in 100' rolls.

We bought Kodalith in 100' rolls.

We bought Vericolor Print Film in 100' rolls (I hated that stuff).

We bought 5071 and SO-366 Ektachrome duplicating films in 100' rolls. The latter was for electronic flash (Bowens Illumitran IIIc).

We bought Ektachrome 64 Tungsten in 100' rolls. (Either it was Ektachrome 50 I rated at 64, or 64 that I rated at 50. I forgot.)

We bought Ektachrome 400 in bricks. It was the only one we couldn't get in 100' rolls back then.

I remember the 42 frame trick. I still have my Nikor tanks and reels.
