One of the knocks against this type automobile is gas mileage. Designers today are coming up with ideas to correct this. My 2017 C-7 gives me a consistent 28-30 MPG on the highway. Granted, that requires higher octane than many other vehicles but the numbers are still very good. I know many people who are happy to get 20 MPG from their cars. I own a vehicle from 1969, 1991, 2009, and 2017 and the best mileage comes from the newest. GM at least got the economy lesson and passed it on. The worst mileage comes with the 2001 Honda S-2000, 20 MPG with the right hand pedal stuck to the floor. No top and lots of smiles result, and it only runs in good weather!

When I had my 2003 Vette with a 6-spd standard tranny, I routinely got 20++ mpg in local driving and up to 37 mpg on the highway cruising at 70mph! I used to joke with friends that this was our economy car.
