This is odd. I was supposed to receive a few Cat6 cables from Amazon today. I just got an email from Amazon saying they will be delivered tomorrow. That's odd. I could understand if delivery was scheduled for a few days from now, but they were going to arrive today. Well, one day this way or that doesn't make much difference. But it's odd.

That was from gov policy changes @ 4 years back; here we have USPS "skip days" because of worker shortages.
Isn’t there a pretty big storm out your way?
Maybe that has messed things up?

We had over twenty-four hours of steady snow. With temperatures just above freezing, there was very little accumulation. I have about 2" on my lawn, and a clear driveway. The forecast was for up to two feet of snow.
Schools and libraries closed out of caution. Driving and delivering is continuing as usual. My cables were just sent today!
Nothing odd about it. I've had that happen a lot, anywhere from a day to a problem with delivery in general where it never shows up. When buying from Amazon the item could be located locally in your area, located in another of Amazon's warehouses or other 3rd party sellers. The 3rd party sellers is where I've seen this more often.

Maybe the delivery driver had a flat tire or maybe his wife went into the delivery room or,,,

Yes, that's the most likely reason for the delay because his pregnant wife rides along in the truck, and she runs up to the house with the package.
Although Amazon said it would arrive yesterday, they later said it was sent yesterday.

It seems as though you receive an Amazon package virtually every day Jerry. You and the driver have to be close personal friends

"Almost" isn't good enough.
Unfortunately, we have a different driver almost every day. We used to have the same driver, so he knew the neighborhood, and we all knew him. It's not unusual to have a packed delivered to the wrong house. On the plus side, I'm not going to give a Christmas tip to a stranger.
Years ago, we had a woman UPS driver. One day she said to my wife, "I'm sure you don't recognize me, but I came here trick or treating many years ago. We had used up all of our shaving cream, and I asked you if you could give us some. And you did."

I ordered an item from Amazon last week and was notified it would be delivered on Monday, March 20. It was delivered yesterday, March 15.

Two-day delivery doesn't happen for me anymore.
I placed an Amazon order March 9 with delivery to be on March 13 (preorder of a movie before release date of March 14). Reviewed tracking on it after delivery today, March 16.
I live about 1.5 hours east of Erie, PA, and about the same distance from Buffalo, NY.
My item was sent from Lancaster, NY, which is a suburb of Buffalo on March 13. It went to Erie, PA, arriving early AM March 14. From there it sent to Warrendale, PA, a little north of Pittsburgh, arriving mid-morning and stayed there until early morning March 15, when it left for Rochester, NY. Rochester received it mid-morning March 15. Just after after midnight (so March 16) it left Rochester for my town and was delivered around 11AM today. That package took such a circuitous route thanks to the USPS that it took approximately 82 hours when it could have been delivered cheaper and faster in a private car.
And now we have a good idea why postage rates are going up.

I ordered some suet for my bird feeder from Amazon. On the original sales confirmation, delivery was supposed to be late next week. I got an email from Amazon yesterday saying delivery would be tomorrow, Friday. The suet was delivered this morning.

Funny! That's the "System," though. You can't fight the system.
