I don't know how I have accumulated so many duplicate photo's on my PC running Windows 11, but I have. I am looking for a way to delete the duplicates, a lot have 4-6 duplicates.

Is that on windows, or do you need to purchase it?

If you have a photo editor that has a library function built in to it, be careful to not delete image files that are part of that library. When they're gone, they're gone .

To delete more than 15 photo's at a time out of the 2600 duplicates that it found, I had to buy the program for $34.36 for six months. It's a fair amount of money, but what a time saver. All of my duplicates are gone now.

Duplicate File Finder is free, and it deletes any number all at once. I don't delete too many at once because if I make a mistake, all the pictures I have selected could be deselected.

I often keep only one of a string of similar photos. To do this, I have to actually look at them, and keep only one of them. This requires only the program provided by my o/s to look at photos, to delete files, and some way of keeping notes.

I use ACDSee for my photo file manager and it has a duplicate file finder built into it. I never use it because a good file manager makes it easy to keep track of all those works of art. A good file manager like ACDSee has many advantages for any prolific photographer. I'd guess LR has similar tools.
