scanning directly to photocard without using a computer

My old flatbed HP Photosmart 7510 just died and I have enjoyed scanning to card and not having to have the computer up and running. I have not been able find a flatbed scanner that will scan directly to a card. Can anyone help.

Several all in one printers have the option to scan to USB... USB gives you the option to use a USB card reader and scan to your (SD) card...

I cannot imagine NOT using the powerful tools in a scanner driver software to control the scans of prints. But then again, I'm a control freak when it comes to getting maximum quality in my files.

These days, rather than waiting on a slow scanner, I fire up my copy stand lights, put the macro lens on the camera, and copy prints, slides, black-and-white negatives, and color negatives to raw files I can edit in Lightroom Classic. Results are better than my old scanner could produce.

I agree and use my copy stand setup all the time except when I need a quick scan of some low quality document.

Ahh, got it. In that case, plug in a reader... My Epson WF-3640 all-in-one has a USB port and a couple of card readers built-in.

If you have a smartphone, there are several apps that can turn your phone camera into a quick-and-dirty scanner and FAX machine. I haven't used mine like that in a while, but it worked great!

Ditto - I just finished doing about 300 BW negatives, and I think the Nikon, copy stand, light source, and Photoshop does a great job - quicker too

I highly recommend the Negative Lab Pro plug-in for Lightroom Classic. It automates much of the hard work of inverting negatives copied as raw files into positive images. It works like a dream.

For those without a Nikon ES2, I recommend the use of the Essential Film Holder. It diffuses a light source, and holds strips of negatives FLAT. More info on that can be found here:

I use the EFH with the 6x9 cm and 35mm strip holders, and the 35mm slide holder. It works very well with strips of four or more 35mm negatives, and three or more 6x6 cm negatives. The slide holder holds one at a time.
