We were in Iceland two weeks ago and I was looking forward to snow covered ground and frozen waterfalls. Well I was disappointed that the land was mostly clear and none of the waterfalls we saw had ice. It has been very warm with a lot of rain recently. This was my first trip there in winter so was hoping for the classic experience. We had one amazing night of Aurora activity that proved to be the best continuous display I have seen with nonstop action for over two hours! This one night was worth the whole trip!

great images, you were incredibly lucky to be able to see the recent fantastic lights. We lived in Iceland for 2 years, we saw green dancing veils, never other colors. We never saw frozen water falls, so don't be upset. Iceland actually has much more moderate temperatures than most people think.

Yes, I was lucky that night for sure. I have quite a few images with the brilliant red. I actually DEsaturated it so it didn't look fake. Thanks!
