Looking for a slide show app to use on an iPad.
I see quite a few in the App Store….looking for a suggestion.
It would run unattended in a display case at a family business.
I want to have an album with the photos,
and be able to select the amount of time the slides are displayed (15, 30, etc seconds for all slides)
The order they are shown (in order or random)
It should be able to repeat the set of photos indefinitely, or have a schedule on a daily basis.
Another nice to have option would be have it able to select which album (s) to display.
Is there a free one?

While not exactly what you want I have an app that I use to display photos on my 43" TV from my Android phone (the app is also available for iOS devices).
My TV has built-in Roku which has an app called Web Video Caster. I have the same app on my phone for free from PlayStore.
I bring up the app on both my TV and Samsung android phone and connect my phone app to the same wi-fi signal that my TV is using.
I then go into the app on my phone and select "phone files" from the drop down menu. I can then select the album on my phone that I want to cast. Then I click on the first image in the folder. When it comes up on both the phone and the TV I then click on "slideshow delay" on the phone and can vary the display time anywhere from 5 seconds to 1-1/2 minutes in several increments.
You could do the same to cast from your iPhone to your iPad (assuming you have an iPhone because you do have an iPad).
Since it is a free download from PlayStore it might be worth a try to see if it's what you want.
P.S. - it also works with movies that I download from the web.

You can get digital picture frames that will go through as much as 32gb of images. Some as large as 17”. Check them out on Amazon. I didn’t check to see if any are programmable.
Stan
You can make a slide show with timings etc. using Microsoft PowerPoint.

Take a look at Endless Slideshow. It has all the features you mention. There is a free version, but the paid version is very cheap and good for 3 devices I think. I currently have 2 running 24/7 with over 14,000 photos on each. At 15 seconds each I think it takes about 60 hours to get through them all. I run mine from laptops to 42" TV monitors but they still display on the laptops.
Thanks for the info…I’ll have a look

you can use iMovie to do all that you ask for above except for random order.
You can also use Photos for creating slide shows.

Have you tried the iOS built in APP PHOTOS? I allows you to make albums and do slide shows from those albums and has auto repeat. There is even some royalty free music which you can select and turn on or off.
It is pretty basic, but free and it works.

I just use the screen saver. You are limited in the selection of timing but it will do random. You just have to set it up so the screen doesn't turn off.
Otherwise, PowerPoint.
I have a 21 inch digital frame that is programable for up to 30 seconds for each picture.
I use PhotoStage Slideshow Producer version 6.04 ( older free version ) from NCH. It allows me to adjust time, type of transion and lenth of transition, order and soud and produces a a video you can run on any player.
When I took photos of the great American eclipse I made a PowerPoint of 150 photos. Recognizing the attention span of most I had different times for slides. I made the most dramatic longer than the beginning and end ones. Total length was 5 minutes.

That averages out to 0.5 Sec per slide. That seems a bit short to me, you blink you miss a slide. But if you are presenting it like a time lapse movie then it makes more sense.
