After an afternoon of short trail hiking, I took a “Road Less Traveled” (a dirt/gravel road), while visiting Petit Jean State Park (and mountain), in Arkansas. I came upon this awesome scene of the setting sun. The young man was already sitting on the overlook. After chatting with him about the beauty of the sunset, I took this single photo of him, sitting and contemplating. I thought it to be a near perfect setting.
It is less than 1 hour drive from my home. Petit Jean is It is a wonderful photographers destination. It rises some 1,120 feet above the Arkansas River Valley, and is a plateau. It has cliffs, streams, and a 95 ft. waterfall Cedar Falls, which is quite photogenic, very large boulder areas. The roads going up are relatively(?) steep!

Beautiful picture, great view. We enjoyed the park when we lived in DeQueen back in the late 70s.

Thanks for the comment! The young man really 'made' the scene for me.
A beautiful landscape and a photo that tells a story - all in one!

It really does tell a story! Or two! The young man said something about the stresses of school, and of course the beauty of the sunset. I really liked/appreciated the fact that he was sitting on the rock post, watching the colorful sunset.
