A well-photographed setup... but, do we get to see the shot?

Do you know who? what Bunny Yeager was?
955 ORIG. 8X10 PUB. PHOTO - BETTIE PAGE IN LEOPARD BY BUNNY YEAGER !

Bunny was not only a well respected glamour photographer, but a model as well. I once found a book she wrote called "How I Photograph Myself"
in a used book store. Great photos, but not exactly in keeping with today's standards of beauty.
A bit of biographical info:

And I thought she was a US test pilot?

Wow, this is an incredible photo. The tonal range, composition with the vertical and horizontal graphic elements and story telling are fantastic.

Harry, thank you for posting this very historical lady. In the past I had read all about her and seen her work. It is so good you posted this to keep this important lady in our memories.
Bruce.
A lot to know in photography. We get this "in the early 1950s, cheesecake photography was considered taboo and prurient". Exactly what is this idiot saying. There were covers during World War Two for totally nude women on the cover of the publication of Yank Publication, a publication of the UA military for the troops. And a pin up was an important moral item for troops in WW II. Yes Betty Grable was the number one pin up (full length one piece bathing suite) for WW II, BUT she had a few years to be in that slot. Margret Burke- White only had a few months to take the second place as the great pin up holder with this PR image. So in demand that it became the weekly center fold image in Yank Magazine.
She got permission to go on a 'milk run' bombing raid in a B-17 over Germany (Yes, she was the 'main squeeze of Ike Eisenhour, gee I wounder how that happened?). Turned out to be no milk run. Margret was credited with two ME 109s shot down as the two waist runners were killed on the flight and she took over the 50 cals, returning fire as the B-17 was under continued attack.
When the shot up plane landed, her assistant made this portrait of her after that flight. Combat photographer? No wounder that she was such an ikon of a can do female with ALL the troops (even if the field officers were not pleased with her, as everyone knew she was Ike's 'girl', and she got away with just about any and every thing to get the photograph!). Everyone here would do well to read a book about Bourk- White and her life, she is one of the best historic figures of photography and one of the best photographers of her time (and don't bother with that hideous travesty film about her produced by Playboy and one of the idiot no talent models from Playboy.).

A nicely staged PR snap. Great stories added a well. Reality check, Bettie was a vary naughty girl and Bunny was a bit of a white bread border line goody to shoes, at least in my opinion. A few images to help.
Please, I have no problem with the nature nor content of these images, I just think it is important to understand the era and the goings on of the times that are presented. As many know, I think 'naughty'/erotic images are perfectly healthy subjects for photography. I also know that my country has a lot to unpack with regards to subjects other than race for the country's history. Not all of us are 8 year old school boys.
Bunny Yeager in typical nude period image, not a pin up style.
Bettie Page holding a 4X5 Graphic Press Camera at a photo club session (colorized).
Bettie Page getting her photo done with a photographer at a camera club photo session.
Bettie Page posing with Irvin Klaw for a PR shot. Keep in mind that Paula Klaw was there at the session.
Thanks for the link.
I have a few books by Bunny Yeager working with Bettie Page. Unfortunately, Bettie Page's later years were not good for her.

That was after the sex change. She called herself Chuck then.
Bunny Yeager and Irving Klaw were the ones who brought Bettie Page to the forefront. While Bunny "discovered" Bettie's naughty side (in Bunny's home-made leopard outfits) and beach rolicking, Klaw found the "dark Angel" side of Bettie in the B&D scenes. You can even see the evolution of Bettie in his photos as she figures out how to hold a riding crop, and why you don't want clown dolls in those photos. While most of the country was going ga-ga over Marilyn, Bettie had an equally dedicated following, many of which were lined up in the shadows.
