P. 21 Spectacular pictures. Is the one of the Montmorency Falls looking to the left of the falls as you look at them from the park below and going up to a house? I vaguely remember something like that. Sure is a hike!!!

Sorry so slow to reply Lee! Don’t remember the layout exactly but the falls are to the left of the stairs in the shot.

p.21 Thanks so much, Johnny It is timely that you posted old Quebec images. You might remember that our UHH friend Roadrunner, was from the area and posted pix from old Quebec - esp. Mt Morency. I say "timely" because I heard from his wife recently, she said he is gradually declining and can barely walk. It is so sad. Seeing your images is a great reminder of someone who loved these challenges so much and learned so much from them.

Thanks Pat. Apologies for the slow reply and hope you see it :)
Sorry to hear about Jim’s problems. I have posted the stairway and some of Old Quebec before in other challenges and heard from him then that he lived close to the falls. His shots of rural Quebec really bring back the time that I lived there.

Great job with the stair captures. The prison ones were intriguing. I'd love to see more and I'd love to use one in my art. Any chance I could grab on and cite you should I use it? Let me know. Again, great job. A photo-shoot adventure, for sure. Regards, Jeff

Another superb set Steve. Your captures are always beautifully composed, with excellent technique. I love to look at them.

Thanks Tony
I like the rendering as much as the shooting. So many ways to artistically interpret. I took the old schoolhouse again yesterday and will post later tonight. Cold, cloudy, gloomy etc. several drone shots too. It’s about two hours away and needs to be shot before the spring leaf out. Also was doing my wellness check to see if it’s still standing!!

Thank you Jay. Almost fell over the railing in a couple of them. It wasn’t as strong as I thought!! Lol
The spirals were from laying on a cold concrete slab (20 degrees) and looking straight up. I need one of those tilt screen viewers.

Pat, thank you so much for the compliments and support!

But I must say, if anyone has "faithful participation," it
most definitely is you and Lesley! So thank you both!

You are so welcome, Rolk Tim.

The internet gives you conflicting information. Originally Synvisc, which is made from the comb of a rooster, is the "standard" for knee pain NOT caused by "bone-on-bone." However, now I'm reading that Synvisc is approved for hip, shoulder and even spine, although I would strongly urge anyone reading this to do their own research, talk to multiple health care providers, etc.

When Synvisc first came out on the market, it was a three shot regimen, which really worked well for me for YEARS! My present condition is caused by worsening osteoarthritis in one knee. Now they have a newer version called Synvisc-One that, you guessed it, is a one shot regimen.

That said, most of my research indicates that a newer product, called Hyalgan actually has an even better track record than Synvisc. That is what my doctor and I will be discussing when I go back in a couple of weeks. Stay tuned, but ALWAYS research multiple sources.

1-4 are the spiral stairs leading up the interior of the prison guard towers. Next two are along the Chicago River Walk, another from a storefront in Chicago, miscellaneous unknown staircase and the last is a set of stairs from the interior of a building at tge U of C campus.

p.37 The prison set is eerily beautiful. Your 2nd set is stunning - out of the darkness of the prison and into light. So glad you posted.

Pat, that's terrific finale. The first one, of Ellis Island, reminds me of my grandmother's story. She had to wait an extra day at Ellis Island upon her arrival here, because her sponsor didn't get there in time to meet her. I'm glad she finally made it.

I am too! We learned so much when we took the Hard hat tour through the hospital. Those who came by "steerage" disembarked at Ellis. Upper class at another spot in the Battery. I had made the dangerous assumption, that the immigrants received 2nd rate care Not the case. The government sent their best public health and military (I think) physicians to provide care. The guide was careful to point out there was no cemetery on the island. For those who passed they were laid to rest at ________on the mainland. If you've not been, I have to say it was one of the most interesting tours and places we've ever been. They have a huge library available for tracing ancestor immigrants. Many were Italian or Irish.
