Is film coming back? Spent 20 years as a film photographer switched to digital 10 years ago never went back to film. No advantage to film

Film is so popular, we have our own film section: https://www.uglyhedgehog.com/s-136-1.html

Yes it seems to be back in vogue. However, the cost of film is extremely high here in Canada.

While I see the point of vinyl and record players (I have many records), I don't see the point of film anymore.

Why do you ask? It seems either it comes back or not would not affect you in anyway.

I disagree with you
i shoot almost exclusively 120 kodacolor in my mamiya 645 and my sinar 4x5(with a 120 adapter)

Probably curious about any possible resurgence.
I would be curious, even though I wouldn't use it.
Does it have to affect one in order to wonder about it?

Is film coming back? Not for me.

If the $10/mo cost of Lightroom hurts, film would be a lot more painful.

I don't think you ever asked such a question?

I don't think it's so much a resurgence, as you say, but rather that it never fully went away. Of course photography today is primarily digital, but there's always been a place for film photography. Some people just prefer the look and feel of various film outputs. It's an expensive adventure, though. Whatever floats your boat!

No, it never really went away.
His question was regarding a <possible>come back, AKA resurgence.......
As in being more popular now than it was a year or three ago.
Maybe it is, maybe it isn't.
I'm not following film, so I couldn't say either way.
I prefer the look of film, but I have accepted digital completely.
