Photoshop Elements 2019 question

I was doing a little PP on an image I took last fall (2022) using PSE 2019. After i finished, I checked the EXIF data and it showed the adjustments were done in PSE 17. I've never owned PSE 17. Seemed strange to me and I have no explanation. Any one have an idea? TIA

Did you ever check for updates, download and install? That window is now probably closed to action in March 2023.

Did you check the Help / About menu and confirm what the software thinks?

Did you buy it from Adobe, or register at Adobe.com, and maybe there's an updated / final install file you can download and correct, if the answers above point to the cause of your observation?

After version 15, Adobe changed the names to reflect actual years. The "17" seen in exif is probably due to software not quite catching up to new names or some other simple interim "solution." I think I recall seeing a similar head-scratcher on one of my pics. Nothing to be concerned about

PSE 2019 is the marketing name. The other is the real name.

I have Adobe Elements 15 on my iMac that is basically sufficient for my needs. However, I find I'm no longer
able to do what I once did very easily. That is. . .I would use the Quick Selection tool and outline only a part of an
image and slide that portion over to another image, by using the Move tool. How would I get rid of the unwanted portion of the second image? Hope we can talk further. Zucco

To reach a wider audience, you might want to start a new topic in the Post-Processing forum. Here's the link:

Yes to all. There were never any updates that were available when i checked for them, it was purchased from Adobe and registered. I've ben using PSE since PSE 7 so know about the updates and registration.

Looks like you didn't get a chance to read beyond Chg_Canon's response. Mine and Max's contain the correct answers to the mystery (a name change)

Thank you Linda and Max for your kind replies. I was unaware of that change. It's nice to have this forum to get accurate and quick answers from people with knowledge and wisdom.
