Dang! Waited for WEEKS for a clear night.....

...then got froze out and chased back into the house.

But at least I got the mount re-polar aligned before I froze. (It even snowed a little here yesterday.)
Going to change back to the ASI1600mm. The Atik is just too hard to work with.
The Atik won't work with NINA, and it was way too cold to sit and fool with it.
Guess I got spoiled. I can easily run things remotely with the ASI and NINA from inside the house.

At least I do know the Atik Infinity will work with
Atmospheric shows a good evening tonight. But I'm going fishing early Saturday, so Friday night is out. I'll be at my BIL's.

And I see Yosemite had up to 15' of snow in spots. I guess California has winter like the rest of the USA?

We've had a bit of snow around here as well...

This is HIGHLY unusual for us though. I would have expected you to be ass deep up there.
I'm just sick and tired of all the rain and clouds we've been having.
Anybody sez drought to me is going to get a boot to the butt.
Of course, I figure we'll have a long smoke season this year with our bumper crop of weeds and brush.
I think this hobby is for masochists.

Supposed to be a clear night tonight.
I sure hope so. Got an odd problem to sort out.
When my mount slews, it stops several degrees off where it should be. I've made sure all the programs have the same Longitude/Latitude, and the time is right on all.
Kind of perplexed. But it makes life interesting.
Then some darn cloud comes up....

Not sure what exactly cleared the odd problem. But I set my clocks all to -7 hours in my equipment, because it appeared every slew as landing about 1 hour off. If I was a betting man, my money with be on that error.
I also made sure my Long/Lat was the same in all programs that use it. Not just some broad brush location, but as precise as I could be.
My end result of these tunings was N.I.N.A. being better than ever before. Seemingly dialed in now, and able to execute a full sequence, finding and centering an object loaded from Stellarium. Got that down pat.
Now, what with the clouds we are having I've been creating sequences to run when I finally do get some clear nights.
A new problem cropped up with my storage. I think my hard drive can't store the files as easily as I can shoot them. One of the perils of a low end laptop, But like always I found a way around it by using a USB hub at my computer to add ports for a D: and an E: thumb drives. Now NINA has two thumb drives to store the images right into so I can move a nights images to my desktop in the house for fiddling with. Darn FITs files anyway.
Since all I really wanna do with my images is to post them anyway, or make YouTube videos with them, I'm back to trying saving them as tiff files while I get the cumbersome processing in order.
So, building a library of sequences to play with at a later time or next year if that's the case.

And just when you get everything sorted out daylight savings time starts on Monday.

Good luck!
