This is a small, fast flowing river in Jacques Cartier Park where it was - 25C (- 13F) when I arrived there early this morning. The area is heavily wooded and there is a fairly rugged trail, actually a snowshoe trail in the winter, that runs alongside the river until it empties into the larger Jacques Cartier River further downstream. The trail you see in these photos was made by someone on snowshoes and is located on top of a layer of ice and snow that would form the edge of the river during the other seasons. Often I had difficulty actuating the shutter, as my hands would get cold enough that my fingers would become somewhat numb. After a somewhat challenging part of the hike, I was reminded of a poem by Robert Frost, the last stanza of which reads
The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.
well captured. I especially like the drinking polar bear in the last one. Is kind of like "Harvey", not everyone can see him.

Many thanks, Mike! It was good to get back to the car. I didn't realise how cold my hands were until I got back.

Thanks, IC! You are right. I cut back on the blue and green in a couple of images, but I should have also cut back on the highlights.
