For those of you who purchase items from B&H:
Exactly one month ago I purchased an Olympus 8-25 Pro lens from B&H for $1099. The item arrived quickly, perfectly packed, etc. A fantastic lens.
Today, I learned that Oly (and subsequently B&H) had the lens on sale for $899. I sent a simple email inquiry to B&H and was credited with the difference...within 10 minutes of contacting them. Excellent service.
For your information.
VBR,
Cool. Many companies won't do a month.
That's B & H for you. One of the reasons, why I have been their customer for so long that I can't even remember since when.
It's always good to check pricing on things you bought in advance or not that long ago as in this case.
When I go to rent a Budget car they offer a significant prepaid discount so I take it. Sometimes I won't be picking the car up for a month or two so I keep checking the pricing. On one occasion the price dropped considerably. I called Buget Customer Service and they went ahead and gave me a refund for the difference.
in the same token, I purchase airline tickets in advance. On a trip I purchased from LAX to DCA I paid like over $400 rt. I checked the same flight several weeks or a month later and it dropped like over $100. American refunded me the difference.
I bought an LG 75" OLED TV. Paid over $3k for it. I knew it was going to drop as they always do but I had the money at the time and bought it. A week or so later it dropped $300. I called customer service with that information and they refunded me but said that would be the last refund on a price drop. I was happy to get that.
I know we get busy and don't even think about these things but if you got time to spare, check on items you bought recently be it a lens, camera, flight, tv etc. I think I got about $500 back on doing this.
Being retired helps too.

VBR,
You're lucky! One more day and you don't get it.

VBR,
B&H delayed sending a small item and I was not in a big rush for and it came eventually (Special order item)
I just got a $50 gift certificate for the delay. The item was only $50 and I was shocked.
I bought a camera before a cruise and didn't have time to try it out. On a phone call, B&H extended my satisfaction period to 30 days after the cruise. I kept the camera!
We bought a camera for our son. The price dropped. On a phone call we got a credit.
I was given a camera that seemed to discharge slowly when not in use. I called to ask for advice. In strong terms the service rep insisted he replace it immeiately instead of waiting to see how big a problem it really was.
My wife wanted to buy a new camera and sell two she had. They sent her more money than the original estimate.
There is no reason to buy camera gear anywhere else! That said, I feel guilty when I buy Canon printer cartridges from Amazon just because I get them quicker.

Yes.
I get ink, paper, memory cards & fobs, hard drives, .... from them.
I even got either a modem or router from them...
I always go to them first when I need stuff.

Nope, nope, nope...
I worked at a camera shop part-time for about 4 years.
I think most of my paycheck went back to the shop.......

B&H reacted to your request in a very classy way. This speaks well of them. The only other company I am aware of that would probably react in the same way is Costco.

But then you won't be retired!
