Red sky in the morning, sailor take warning. Did you have a storm that day? Maybe it doesn't apply to pink sky.

No storm. It was quite a peaceful morning actually. I'm not sure either if pink sky applies.

Very nice image. Just curious. How much tweaking did you have to do with hue and saturation post processing, or were the colors really like that?

The colors were like that but I had to overexpose the image a bit so the island would have color instead of being black as I don't use HDR. In lightroom i removed some exposure and enhanced the colors I lost to recreate what I saw. I don't believe in completely altering a photo and changing skies out. I did up the contrast quite a bit.

Nice work, it's a lovely image. I'm always interested in seeing the "straight out of the camera" image (even though it's processed, too, just done by the camera) and the final "darkroom" work. I just really love working with the image to get it to just feel right.

Same here. Working on pictures makes you feel like an artist as you are finishing your work you started which is the original picture. Brings out the creative side in a person.

Yeah, I almost never try to swap out one sky for another, unless I'm obviously creating a composite picture. But I try to pull every little bit of sky out of the image I have. And I'm not one to shy away from a little color masking. I've never done HDR, but so far, it always looks too un-natural for me, even when done subtly.
