I saw the video before buying the adapter. The issue to AF stopping when the zoom ring is moved is an annoyance. As far as AF goes, I've used the Z9 with the Nikon 200-500mm f/5.6 and Tamron 150-600mm f/5-6.3 G2 side by side with the Sony 200-600mm and, I believe, what Mark sees with eye tracking is kind of common with the Z9 and telephoto glass and not necessarily the Sony lens. The Z9 has problems with animal eye tracking in low contrast situations, when the animal is small in the frame or when there is clutter in the background, including water splashing. It struggles with song birds in trees and birds with long beaks, especially with lower contrast features like Bitterns and Reddish Egrets. The workarounds are to go back to dslr single point focus or go to DX mode and there are some settings which make eye tracking a bit stickier. I've got buttons programmed for that. Steve Perry has documented the issues and provided workaround for them at Backcountrygallery.com . So far, I am happier with the performance of Megadap 211 adapter and Sony 200-600mm than I am with the FTZ II adapter and Nikon 200-500mm f/5.6 and the quality is significantly better than the Tamron G2. The Sony lens focuses faster, when it locks, the lock is good, it internally focuses so the balance doesn't change when moving the focus ring and the full range of zoom happens in 1/4 turn of the zoom ring. It's a really, really nice lens.

Sounds good, you obviously have done your due diligence with testing and shooting, with actual workarounds and knowing how to get the most performance out of the combo. Enjoy.
Cheers and best to you.
