4k Pre-Burst

First... Shutter speed too slow, motion blur, focus not spot-on, very noisy. I know this already so don't beat me up. I was trying the 4k Pre-Burst feature and captured this Goldfinch. Cropped, resized and background blurred in Photoshop Elements.

Can you clarify what camera, lens, EXIF data, focus modes, etc? Was this cropped a lot? If eye focus, most cameras would have had a tough time. Not sure whether you are asking for help or just comments?

Shooting action like this is always tough. But fun to do! So enjoy.

Shooting in Pre-Burst it records 30 frames. You can select a single frame to save or save all 30 as an MP4 movie and select/save a single frame on the computer. I did it on the computer and the exif showed only the pixel dimensions. I'm guessing the focal length was around 30 and the f-stop around 4.4. It was heavily cropped. Focus was manual at where I thought the bird would be when it left the feeder. (I tried this once before and auto-focus didn't work so I didn't try it this time. After I had done this I remembered it didn't work because I was shooting through a screen. I'll use AF next time.) Thanks for asking this. I wasn't asking for help. Just commenting that I was not trying to get a perfect shot, just trying out the Pre-Burst feature.

Thanks for all the detailed info! I have played with the pre-burst (on a Nikon Z9) but always seem to forget in real life situations to use it. Still hoping to remember and get that killer shot that only a pre-burst can do. So am always interested in hearing of other's use of this feature. Thanks for posting.
