Hydrogen engines combine hydrogen and oxygen to form H20, with no carbon emissions.
Cool, no pollution.

However, since nitrogen is present in the air (intake), those engines also produce nitrous oxides (NO).
So does that mean we might be able to laugh all the way down the highway and not care about traffic????
Should be interesting going through a long tunnel.
Or should I say, exiting.

Sadly there is literally nothing cheaper than fossil fuel to create power. We are the next fossil fuel.

Electrolisys will create hydrogen and oxygen from water.
Wait, the water supply is dwindling already...

We'll either be walking a lot or go back to horses.

There were a few experimental hydrogen powered powered automobiles in the early decades of the 19th century before oil and electricity were exploited. Presently, it is possible to purchase hydrogen cars in CA where filling stations exist. Travel is highly restricted due to lack of infrastructure.

There is no future for hydrogen powered cars. Frau Hossenfelder provides an excellent analysis.

Don't worry once you burn the Hydrogen you get your water back. The problem is the energy needed to do electrolisys. Would that be generated by a coal fired generator?

Water vapor is the most proficient greenhouse gas. Holds in more heat in than CO2. No one talks about that.

So has the water vapor around the world been steadily increasing?
I know it changes based on (temps) fronts and pressure systems, but is there an overall increase.
If there had been no change in the <average> water vapor in the atmosphere, that's why no one is talking about it, regardless of what it may be capable of doing.

If methane and CO2 raise atmospheric temperatures, then water in oceans, lakes, rivers, etc. will evaporate more quickly, creating more clouds and more frequent, more violent storms.

As for using Hydrogen as a fuel --

Hydrogen used in Fuel Cells works well without any nitrous oxides --
All you get is electric power to the wheels & pure water coming out of the exhaust

Different animal compared to burning hydrogen in an engine?

How does that relate to the statement my comment was about?: "Water vapor is the most proficient greenhouse gas. Holds in more heat in than CO2."
If the water condenses in more violent storms, does the water vapor in the atmosphere increase or stay the same?
