I have Lightroom Classic, can anyone explain the difference between Gigapixel AI vs Enhance to me?
Thanks! ~Kevin
This video doesn't explain the difference, but shows you a side by side comparison of the two algorithms:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vsl1hIn8PYg More importantly, it shows you how to perform the comparison on your own computer.
Topaz is better...I know that much.
They all use AI to perform the function...but Topaz is about a generation ahead of Adobe.
Both good...but Topaz is 'clearly' better.

I have both. 90% of the time I use Topaz GP. On occasions I use Enhance. I find the options in GigaPixel to be its selling point.

And Topaz lets you vary the enlargement where LR only has a double option…and Topaz has additional controls over the AI.
or look at On1 resize AI which is as good or better than Topaz Gigapixel. I have both and On1 does a better job about 75% of the time. And way faster
Being bored I downloaded a trial copy of Topaz Gigapixel AI to investigate its performance versus LR/ACR 'Enhance'. After playing around with the different options and seeing what produced the best results for the type of images I work with mainly I undertook a comparison test.
A nef was loaded into Topaz Giga AI and the 'HQ' (High Quality) mode run with no noise suppression or blur removal. Testing had shown that all these do is degenerate the image quality.
Following this the Topaz result and the original nef were loaded into ACR (LR is the same). The nef was 'Enhanced' to 200% as the Topaz image had been. The nef had no PP undertaken. The jpeg from topaz required 100% increase in contrast and a small increase in exposure to equal the nef file. Both images were cropped the same (note there is a minor difference in magnification between the two results) and placed side by side. The results are shown below.
Something I don't understand, or am doing wrong, is that the result from Topaz is flat and slightly darker. This also happens if I use Topaz noise. From the results I have got if I were to want a software to undertake a 200% enlargement it certainly won't be Topaz when my ACR/LR already does it, and better. Yes I know there are tools within Topaz Giga pixel AI for addressing noise and blur but I don't want loss of detail.
P.S. Note I should have removed the colour noise on the ACR, the Z6 I a shocker for this.
Thank you. Excellent report/test.

The reviewer in the link I posted earlier came to the same conclusion that LR Enhance provides a better quality image than Gigapixel AI. Less artifacts, more natural result.

Not my findings. Much prefer GigaPixel AI!
