This is my preserved Milkweed Beetle that I staged for a single-shot macro session by placing it on a dried sprig of leaves. It is another practice session using the DIY cottage cheese flash diffuser.

Sippy, your continued parade of beetles has caused me to wonder how, when a child in the country, I did not take the time to look more closely at the "bug-zoo" that surrounded my home.

Elliott, I use a Nikon Z6 with the Nikon NIKKOR Z MC 105mm f/2.8 VR S Z-Mount Macro Lens for the majority of my single-shot macro sessions such as this.

Dpullum, I spent my life that way too and it was not until retirement that I started to pay attention to the small things around me. The more I looked, the more I found it to be intriguing. Such complexity and specialization it a small package.
