We had a winter storm yesterday, although certainly not as bad as I had expected. Received about 8 inches of new snow and so I headed out to the park early this morning before all the crowds. I chose a hiking trail that has an elevation gain of about 700 feet, but is quite steep in places and, with the new snow, was taxing at times. These photos were all taken on this trail, except for the last one which was taken just at the entrance to the park. When I arrived at the park, I seemed to be one of the only ones there, but when I left, at about 10:30, I met loads of cars on the only park road and a long line of cars at the entrance gate. It pays to get up early.
Thank you for the thumbs, Longshadow!

Thank you very much, Mike! I normally avoid the place on a weekend as it is quite close to Quebec City and has a lot of snowshoeing, fatbike, hiking and cross country ski trails, but because of the fresh snow I thought that I would chance it. Getting there early turned out well, as I first met other hikers on my way down. All young women no less! The trail is actually a 4 mile loop, but the second half is flat and doesn't have any great views.
