Hi
I am going to california and was planning to go to yosemite essentially for one picture (the fire waterfall) (though would of enjoyed doing other things) and due to the snow having limited access to the park.. and then 2nd part would be going to Kings Canyon.. (dont mind the driving) but rethinking going to Kanobe area (Bucksin Gulch, revisit zion(last time was there .. was lousy weather not ideal pictures) and seems 0ne 7 ish drive to an area that has relative things to see within normal driving time) as opposed to yosemite then kings canyon( (again with winter have to drive like 5 hours to get to kings canyon) I have 4 1/2 days .... whats your opinion???
1 - yosemite - 2days kings canyon 2 days (and that hoping good weather for the fire waterfall picture)
2 - bucksin gulch/zion/antelope canyon/and other places (with one 7 hour drive)
thanx for the input
I have done the reverse, going from Las Vegas to Grand Canyon, Horseshoe Bend, Antelope Canyon, Monument Valley, then the long drive to Yosemite.
The firefall is a one time a year event, so if you can make it, do that. Watch for the road and snow reports and know that if there is enough snowfall, then tire chains will be required to enter the road into Yosemite, if open. I have never been there at that exact time for the firefall , wish I had been.
The other places are still great many times a year.
1) Horseshoe Bend and the Colorado River
2) Lower Antelope Canyon
3) Upper Antelope Canyon
4) Monument Valley
5) Monument Valley
6) Yosemite
7) Yosemite
8) Grand Canyon
9) Grand Canyon
10) Grand Canyon

Cheers and best to you.

Huge snow pack in Sierras, Yosemite, Mammoth, Probably same in Zion, Kanab etc with black ice around too. Be extra careful. Many roads limited because of the amount of snow. Last week US 395 was still one line either direction and treacherous. The photo is from downtown Virginia City, Nevada. I recommend whiskey at Bucket O' Blood Saloon. ๐คฃ๐๐ป๐บ๐ธ

Loc: Easton, PA but will travel for photos
And remember: you will have to park and then walk about 2 miles to get to the photo spot. At least thatโs how it was when I was there last time

Certain dates in February require reservations because of the crowds wanting to see the Firefall event. If you can't get reservations during your travel times, the decision has made for you.
thanx for ye reply.. been to everyone except antelope... which was a possibility.. but after reading some reviews saying that its a 10 - 15 minute walk (in which you are hurried through) for what i saw about $100.. and saying its not really worth it.. but still not off the list offially if I dont go to yosemite
one of my concerns.. on top of if lousy weather is there when I get there .. wasted time (if I did not have such limited time would just take the chance
