I do like to work with black and white. I don't know how good I am at it. I'm sure you all will tell me. Be kind!

I like 1 and 3 for a different reason than you might expect.
I do quite a bit of compositing. I shoot my own stock. It is very difficult to find a tree, that is isolated from other trees in WV.
You would think that I could find a lonely tree on top of a mountain. It's just not the case. Typically to cut out a tree you need a solid sky background. Both of these trees fit the bill.
I haven't been to the MS delta in about three years. It's not so hard to find one there.

Congrats!

Thanks! yes, it is hard to fine solitary trees. I happened on this one while driving down Hy 111 south. It has become another fav!

Amy--I really really like the last shot you posted. Wonderfully composed. Love how the fence leads you to the solitary tree. Good work!

The first three are nice enough, but suffer a bit in comparison to that last shot, which is sooo good. The third would be my favorite of the first group, but could you consider cropping it a bit differently to offset the tree a litte more and emphasize it, and maybe eliminate some of the sky, as nice as the clouds are? Just a thought.

This isn't bad at all, but I meant the third shot in the first series. Hope you don't mind, took the liberty of a quick crop just to show you.

Oh, sorry. When I took the picture, years ago, I was wanting to get both the cloud and the tree. That's the reason for so much sky. I like your's too.
