Absolutely ruins a good nature scene. Occasionally, when hiking, I find a stack of rocks, large to small on top.
Always around streams. If they have a meaning, I don't know but I tear them all down. The US Forest Service,
at one campground near a stream, has posted signs telling people not to move or stack rocks in the stream.
