Bald Eagles can rotate their heads about 200 degrees, owls can go 270 degrees! A useful ability when you are looking for lunch. Photo taken Jan. 2015 at the SNWR. Another look back into my archives with new processing ideas.

Birds can turn their necks as they have a lot of neck bones. All mammals, including Giraffes and mice, have 7 neck bones.

Had not made the connection between number of bones and range of motion, interesting. The mouse to Giraffe thing is a wait what moment...
