The Imaging Resource's 2022 best camera winners seem to me to be a diverse group. The editors group found Sony A7R V third, OMDS OM-1 second, and Nikon Z9 first. And what were their readers' choices? Sony A7R V third, OMDS OM-1 second, and Nikon Z9 first.

Some of the other awards are as follows:

Best beginners camera:
runner-up - OMDS OM-5
1st - Canon R10

Best enthusiast camera:
runner-up - Canon R7
1st - Fuji X-T5

Best Pro crop camera:
runner-ups - Fuji X-H2 and Fuji X-H2S
1st - OMDS OM -1

Best Pro full frame:
runner-ups - Sony A7R V and Canon R3
1st - Nikon Z9

Of course, there will be many varying opinions. But I still find it interesting and diverse.

Now, everyone should run right out and buy one.
Why?
Because they're the best......

There's some community members that will probably soil themselves over these award selections.

Part of our business was designing and building highly controlled environments for various applications and manufacturers. I learned that the term "Quality" was defined by the manufacturing clients as conformance to a standard. A Rolex and a plastic giveaway watch in a Mcdonald's Happy Meal were both deemed to be of quality if they met the standard set by the manufacturer.

Beyond the manufacturer's finite requirements, anyone else's opinion is based on their personal perception and with some eight billion people on earth, opinions may vary....as in the case of this camera rating review.

The surest way to corrupt a novice is to explain the importance of a website's survey results being called 'awards' from Imaging Resource.

My best pro camera?

I forgot my "pro" camera at home.

Had my LX3 panasonic p&s with me and used it instead driving back home.
It work perfect.
Client couldn't tell the difference.

I suppose we all have "pro" cameras...
Does anyone own a "con" camera?

Most will not have to "soil themselves". Imaging Resource's awards are for only the new 2022 products and how they feel they match up against the category and each other. That is why I still find the editors and readers selections being the same as an interesting occurrence. They go through a lot of the "decision making" in the reviews.

I am not sure that I can find that much fault with the reviews. For example, the Imaging Resource's review of the OM 12-45 lens (not a part of the awards). The reviewer pointed out the pros and cons of the lens. He noted the 12-45 Pro lens was cheaper and smaller than the 12-40 Pro lens because of the "missing" focus clutch and lens function button. In his opinion, the "loss" of the focus clutch was not a issue. But the editors put a note in the review that for still photographers the missing focus clutch may not be an issue, but for the videographer the clutch was more of a necessity. Hence, as good as the 12-45 is, it may not be for everybody (and the 12-45 is really good; it's my wife's lens).

This is why, for me, the awards are an indication of the state of the industry's quality for all brands. Very diverse but no single brand is that much better than any other.
