Hatshepsut an interesting powerful Lady King of Egypt with a keen eye for unique architecture.
Hope you find the photos interesting ---

Per Britanna a brief outline:
Hatshepsut was a female king of Egypt (reigned in her own right c. 1473–58 BCE) who attained unprecedented power for a woman, adopting the full titles and regalia of a pharaoh.
Hatshepsut’s reign was essentially a peaceful one, and her foreign policy was based on trade rather than war. Restoration and building were important royal duties, and she undertook extensive building programs, namely on the temples of the national god Amon-Re; the Karnak temple complex; and the Dayr al-Baḥrī temple, a funerary monument for herself.

Wow.
Curious, how far into the mountain does it go? Or doesn't it.

I don't "think" any of it actually does
There were so many darn tourists that my wife and I kept our tour to a minimum

I was there two yrs ago and its an iconic, amazing place that you did a great job of photographing. I am amazed at how few tourists to managed to include in your photos! As to Ken and Longshadow's comments, it does go into the mountain that it is carved from, but not very deep--I was surprized at how shallow (compared to the free standing temples) it goes. Also amazed at a tree stump in the approach to the temple that was planted during Hatsepsut's reign!
