Hi Hoggers, these are a few pictures from past visits to Virginia and Nevada cities, which are a couple of ghost towns in southwestern Montana.
Food stores have come a long way as far as variety, but things weren't so readily available as they are today (until covid hit). Now, some of you might pick my picture apart because there aren't any food items...so, lets just call them dry goods.

Ahh, here's some food items, so let's call it a food store once again.

I wonder if these cans were full or empty. Sorry, just thinking out loud.

Here's a wagon wheel that looks a little worn.

I don't think this train station sees a lot of business.

A wonderful store. The cash register is beautiful.

Hi NMGal, thanks for looking. That was a neat-looking cash register, but I couldn't figure out where to insert my card (ha, ha).
Fun stuff, Mark...always a kick to look back at what used to be!!
Nice set. All nice photos but I like the photo with the Register in it.
All wonderful photos. The wagon wheel gets the big prize here -- sharp and perfectly lighted and exposed. Love the chains used to keep it from being stolen.

Thanks for the memories! It looks sooo much like the small country store that I would ride my bicycle to visit, when I was much younger... i may have had a penny, or nickle to spend, lol.
Those were the days when stores actually served the customer. There was no need to wander all over the store looking for the items you needed. You just asked the man behind the counter for the items you wanted and he would get them for you.
Very nice. Life was simpler then, but with fewer choices.
