I think it's 48V. The reason electrical system with voltage higher than 50V has to have a different level of safety to prevent electrical shock.

Interesting story about using a UPS. While I was living in Georgia, our area was prone to power outages during bad weather. I set up the den with the TV and a lamp on a UPS. One night I got a call from my neighbor asking why the power was on only at our house. She told me it was out in the rest of the neighborhood. I looked around and found the power was out in the rest of our house and explained about the UPS. She thought it was strange that we had power when no one else did, sort of like the Twilight Zone episode the monsters on Maple Street.
