SMDV Speedbox 70

Several years back I bought this SMDV- Spedbox 70cm softbox, I used it with my Godox AD200. I did a couple shoots with it and then put it away, for what reason I don’t know. Got interested in something else I guess; old men have a habit of doing things like that. Anyway, I dug it out this afternoon and thought I might try another outdoor shoot when the weather warms up. What are your thoughts?
Camera Canon - 5DIII
Lens – Canon 70/200 f/2.8
Light – Godox AD200
ISO 100, Shutter speed 1/125, Aperture f/7.1 or there abouts.

Sorry to say, I have boxes of "toys" that eventually arrived from "China Direct" that have been used rarely of ever. I have too much time... perhaps that drifting away from projects is "retirement syndrome."

The model is absolutely beautiful and skilled at being a photo vixen. I think if you had use a Kodak 2A Brownie and some Kodachrome film with natural light she would still have been so photogenic that the photos would still have been wonderful!! Wayne, you are lucky to have an opportunity to do the shoot blessed by her being.

Why not use it again and again? It appears it sure did well for you the first time.

Wonderful session Wayne. Of course, having a beautiful model didn't hurt the outcome!

totally agree with the others here...
Having a talented thespian before your lens makes all the difference...
You've worked with her before and the synergy between the two of you is keenly evident throughout this session...

Bottom Line? The second to last capture is intimate, charismatic and by far and away the finest in this diverse mix...
Loving her makeup artistry... stellar lip decor... She obviously prides her incredible MUA skill set...

Also loving the vanishing point perspective in the first image of this series (Editorial Fashion) my only concern is her right hand is way too far ahead of her face thus becomes as large as her face in this two dimensional rendering...

Take care Wayne to always try to have the talent's face the closest to your lens...
Yes you'll never see the issues it causes thru the viewfinder... That's why its such a bear to eliminate.
Best EZ fix is to have her hold onto the fence/rail behind her and lean forward which lets the arms form a compositional triangle... And stay on the same plain as her face (no distortion)

Thanks so much for sharing... and for putting up with my bitching and moaning over subtle technique.
Keep in mind I wouldn't invest time/effort if I didn't believe you could seriously become a highly regarded published Fashion and Beauty photographer... Absolutely Love having the competition you graciously provide here!

Looking forward to more like this Wayne...
