Would like some input from those who use scanning cameras. I know there some NASA retired engineers out there who I know and did this work.

That is rather general and there are many types.

Al kinds and types. Built my first from a UMAX 1200x1200 scanner and coupled it to a 4x5 Omega. What beautiful stills and seascapes.
