Because of my son's upcoming wedding in August 2023, within the last six months, I have looked at, perhaps 20 sets of wedding photos from an equal number of professional photographers. Not one of them features natural colors in photos. All of them (!) feature -- what I would call -- "Earth-tone" color profiles with significantly decreased dynamic range.
One photographer responded to my inquiry and said that the color scheme was her "brand" and as such it couldn't be changed. How can it be anything unique if all photographers surveyed have the same color scheme?
Am I not staying with the time, or did many wedding photographers suddenly go nuts?
The decade of earth tones?
Is your monitor calibrated so that you are certain what you are seeing is accurate?
That does seem rather odd. I would think that a REAL pro would want to know from the git-go what the customers expections are and be able to make it happen.
What with weddings being such a sensitive subject I would have thought that the obvious thing was to offer that look as one of several options (including natural) and let the customer choose.

R.G., your observation makes perfect sense to me.
Just like the "Golden Rule", the person with the Gold (customer), rules. . .
Best Wishes,

Does sound strange that all the weddings you've checked out were shot in "earth-tones". Maybe go check out a photographer's work in person to verify their options.
[quote=ELNikkor]Does sound strange that all the weddings you've checked out were shot in "earth-tones", seems kind of limiting to me, but not necessary for you to have your son's shot that way.

If you don't like my artist vision, hire someone else.
This might be an example of the trend?
https://www.lukaskorynta.com/editing-tips-soft-earthy-tones/Certainly, this differs from the high-key look of the past few years, or the classic B&W, or most anything from the cellphone photographers also there at the ceremony.
Linked from above. Guess you have to pick your clothes too when selecting one of these photographers and their earthy style.

I noticed that too. Just don't hire them if you don't like but obviously many people like that.

"Earth" isn't natural? 😂
I get a kick out of online articles that tell me what colors are in style for house or clothing - like I'm going to buy new clothes or paint my house every year.

Earth is natural but if your face is the color of the earth it's not natural unless you just fell face down.
