Matchstick fire and smoke

I would like to have someone "judge" the photo as if in a contest.

Assuming that it's in keeping with the subject of the contest, it's visually engaging and appealing. I would get rid of the white specks because they detract from the overall starkness of the image.

To that I would add that it has a good mix of colours from the blue/green of the smoke to the red/orange/yellow of the flame and the match. The smoke is also well lit and to good effect.

Thank you. I looked at the specks and believe they are part of the phosphorus from the match head and were lit up by the flash. Will remove them and see how it looks.

Definitely remove the white specs, they look like dust specs or dirty sensor. Also, more of a critique than judging the photo itself, I would experiment more with the technique to see if you could get a more interesting composition. I feel this one is a little too centered, maybe flame off to one side with the smoke flowing to the other, just a suggestion.
