Brit in America. Maybe that’s why our humor is in sync. Look forward to seeing more from you. We all get Poff at times. I’m 87 this year so I’ve had longer to get Poff.
Cheers.

I always heard that Yorkshiremen needed passports to travel to England. Still true? Jk. There is indeed hope for you. I grew up in Coventry, had an uncle who lived in Leeds. Henconner Ave. Looking forward to more conversations.

Unbelievable I was born and bred in Armley, Leeds 12, about ten minutes away from the Henconners, in Bramley Leeds 13. We actually bought a dog from someone on Henconner Lane. It's a small world at times, isn't it.
You take care.

Old Coot I used to live in New Farnley on the A58 Halifax Road

I don't know if you know about this, but there are two excellent TV drama series, made in Halifax. One is called, "Last Tango in Halifax" and the other is in its third series, which ends to morrow night on BBC 1 it is called "Happy Valley". I am not usually a TV fan but these two series are excellent. I don't know if you can get "BBC iplayer" in
America but I know you would really enjoy these two drama series.

Cheers and Beers Graham 098......

I have been watching "Last Tango in Halifax" for a while now. Didn't know about the other show "Happey Valley" but will look for it.
Theres also another show that was on a while ago called "Gentleman Jack". Its about the heiress to the Lister Family fortune and her life at Shibden Hall, which is the old Tudor manor in Shibden Park. Apparently she was the first ever to come out as being gay. Over here almost all of the British TV shows are on PBS Cannel which is almost like the BBC
Thanks for the info. Haven't been back to Halifax since my Sister died in 2008. Married a Cornish girl 53 years ago and when I come over to England we spend our time in Cornwall.

Can't believe that Halifax is the new Hollywood. Thats 3 movies from around there (4 if you include "Brassed off" a movie from the Thatcher era. Why Halifax, I remember that Halifax was the poor relation as far as West Yorkshire towns were rated. Leeds, Bradford, Huddersfield were all more prominent towns. There'snothing special about the town except for the surrounding countryside. I must admit that seeing these films brings back many memories of my past, Wainhouse tower for example.
Cheers
