Pretty much all adult lions have scars from fights. Lionesses defending cubs and males for dominance.

I hope I am not imposing myself on your set, but we came across a set of mating lions. They kept it up every m10-15 minutes for as long as we cared to watch.

Poor things, look at the flies!!! If it was every 10-15 it was one of the first couple of days! By the end of the week it is not quite so often.
