I have no problems with German food.

Loc: I am from Gaffney, S.C. but live in Utah.
I'll have to show this to my wife who is German.
SO and I went to our local German restaurant yesterday for lunch.
Our experience did not match our previous experience through the years we have been going there. To start, my favorite dish was no longer on the lunch menu. And the young waitress did not recognize "Pschorr Brau" in my reference to the beer. My SO stated that it was not as German any more.
I reminded her that it was very similar with other concerns because of the workforce problems being faced by them. Add to that the lack in availability of the products needed to provide the cuisines for the restaurants. Also, the customer base has shrunk due to the last few years issues.
Hopefully, they may be able to grow back into what they were.
PS., the comeback is "What's wrong with the Brats?!"
I guess I deserve ridicule. I’m 25% German with a German last name and teach my grandsons to speak German but I can’t stand most German food.

You do know that every region in Germany has its own version of "German Food".

Something like chocolate or German chocolate cake would be great. Potato salad, brats, blood cheese, head cheese, kraut and so on don’t do a thing for me. I guess I’m just too American.
German food? Years ago I spent two weeks in Germany for work and I lived on Beer, Wine, Coffee and Pastry with an occasional sausage thrown in. Unfortunately my next stop was in London - the food was bland and the beer was warm.
