I received my new (5th) epson 8550 printer and set it up. Concenses was I can't print borderless prints 11x14 due to ink over spray. Question with my limited post processing skills how do I create a small white border.
I looked into my printer settings and didn't find anything obvious. I'm running win 7, Yes I know it's not supported, but I hate win 10 and my desk top and 2 laptops can't be upgraded to win 11, according to best buy.
I'm flexible to how big a border I have to have. By the time I installed the printer, Epson was closed. I don't want to print
borderless anymore but that's my first choice.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Don't most printer drivers have the option to print borderless or not?

I haven't found that option.
If you have some advice on where to find it I'm all ears

Size your images a little smaller than the paper. You can also create the print in the computer with a border. The pictures I post are 8x6, but the images are 7 1/2 x 5 1/2 leaving a 1/4 border.

Sorry, I have a Canon printer.

I said in my post I have limited post skills so I would have to learn to resize. A fellow hogger sent me a video how too do it.
I thought in setting there would be a check box but haven't come across it yet

It
may be in the printer properties that the editor uses for printing, not necessarily in the editor print function itself.
Is there a button in the print options box/window in the editor for setting/altering/viewing printer properties?
On two of my editors I had to go to Printer Properties, then Advanced, then there was a setting that said borderless was off (which I could change to on).
You may have to drill down to get to it.
I found an options button on the final print screen and I unchecked borderless and have a small even spaced white border.
Thanks to all
Just wish I could print borderless but I'll deal with it.
I didn't want to have to resize every image.
Couldn't have worked better.
Thanks to everyone

Simpler to find the borderless setting, even with all the drilling to get to it.
The problem is knowing where the setting is located.
I never use it as my prints are mounted in frames or mats, so I never print borderless.

Can you adjust the magnification of the printed image in the printer settings? Print at 98% or so to give yourself a small border.

I didn't want to do that for every photo. I went into a second options page and unlocked borderless and now have a small white border.
I posted I found the solution.

Don't print from windows. Use the print program associated with the printer. I feel sure there are options that will ask borderless or not.
