Sometimes, final wills are used to spite a partner one last time. For poet Heinrich Heine, he vowed to give all his property to his widowed wife on one condition: she needed to remarry.

While this might sound like a romantic way to encourage your widow to move on, it was far from it. Because his wife was known to be boring and incredibly vain, Heine actually stated that if she remarried “there will be at least one man who will regret my death.”

There should be a limit to what a person's will can make someone else do. Sure, she could forget about inheriting his goods, but that's not a rational decision. People seem to have more power in death than they had in life.

"My wife can inherit my $10 million if she rides topless on a bus from Manhattan to Albany while eating haggis the whole time."

I figure the bigger man is the one that can suck it up, keep his mouth shut and accept his loss or that he lost.

Like the fellow I met and every conversation invariably turned to what a bad person his ex wife was, even though he was remarried to a really great gal. I finally asked him how long they had been divorced...26 years! Talk about not letting go! I had even more respect for his current wife after that because I’m sure she got really sick of hearing about the ex wife over and over.

Story: The husband was moving out with his belongings. Out the door his wife said "I hope you live a miserable, lonely and bane existence" !

Husband: " So know you want me back"? >

That won't apply to me...
I married my love 56 years ago and so far the Honeymoon isn't over as yet.
On the other hand I'm still in husband training.
One never graduates from that.

I'm not sure if he was spiteful or detestable. Maybe both!!
