The first bloom from the recent heavy rains in Southern California. I’ve never seen this plant blossom before now.

OM System OM-1, f/10, 1/320s, ISO 250. I wanted a deep enough DOF to get most of the blossom in focus with the leaves in soft focus.

Thanks, and you’re exactly right about the leaves. This time they wouldn’t darken any more than this the first time. Since you mentioned it I ran the saved image through my leaf-darkening process and am a lot happier with it.
